QuikSip™ aspirator with single channel device for removal of liquids out of reaction vessels, tubes, etc. QuikSip™ aspirator with 8-channel manifold for removal of liquids from multiwell plates.
Laboratory aspiration systems enable the safe and precise aspiration of liquid supernatants in a wide range of laboratory applications. They are used in areas such as cell culture, molecular biology, microbiology and analytics, as well as in biotechnology, chemistry, medical and pharmaceutical laboratories. Compact vacuum aspiration systems such as the BVC are particularly useful for changing culture media and for the fast, controlled removal of liquids. Many aspiration systems can be easily connected to existing laboratory infrastructure, are easy to transport and allow parallel use at multiple workstations.
The QuikSip™ from BRAND offers the advantage of safely and quickly aspirating non-critical media in biological applications. It can be used to easily remove liquid supernatants such as culture media from dishes, tissue culture flasks and multiwell plates, as well as supernatants following the precipitation and centrifugation of proteins and nucleic acids. The aspirator can be disassembled within seconds for cleaning or maintenance without the need for tools. This allows wear parts to be replaced quickly, easily and cost-effectively.
BVC liquid aspiration systems provide solutions for the aspiration of culture media and can be adapted modularly to the respective operating conditions and existing workflows. The BVC basic model is an ideal addition to laboratories with an existing vacuum supply and meets the safety requirements for work in biological safety levels 1 (S1) and 2 (S2). The BVC control and BVC professional models are additionally equipped with an integrated diaphragm pump for decentralized vacuum generation, which can be conveniently controlled via a multifunctional user interface. The BVC professional model is suitable for use in biological safety level 3 (S3) laboratories, as it features additional safety-related functions designed to meet high hygiene requirements. BVC systems are characterized by their compact, space-saving design, easy installation and operation, and low maintenance requirements thanks to the reliable chemical-resistant diaphragm pump. With their well-designed safety concept, they provide an effective alternative to conventional manual or semi-automatic liquid aspiration methods.
Depending on their configuration and the applicable safety regulations, BVC systems can be used in laboratories with safety levels 1 to 3. For applications with particularly high safety requirements, the BVC professional offers additional protective features such as a non-contact liquid level sensor, self-closing quick couplings and the option of separately discharging the exhaust air.
Both BVC control and BVC professional are equipped with an integrated chemical-resistant diaphragm pump, whose suction capacity can be conveniently adjusted via a touch panel. The BVC professional additionally offers enhanced safety and convenience features. These include a non-contact liquid level sensor, an integrated disinfection routine for the suction tubing and self-closing quick couplings. These features increase occupational safety and support reliable biocontainment, particularly in demanding applications.
